Des Plaines Patriots Win AAABA World Series!
7/26/2015

Johnstown, PA -- The Des Plaines Patriots captured the first ever AAABA World Series by a Chicago-Metro Franchise by defeating the Philadelphia Bandits 5-4 on Sunday August 10. The Patriots went undefeated in the tournament by going 6-0 with a total run differential of 9 runs. Patrick Murphy (Rider University) was the RBI Champion for the tournament with 8, and Bronson Wittkamp (Triton College) won the tournament MVP totaling 3 of the Patriots 6 wins. The Patriots arguably had the toughest draw of any team in the tournament. They drew New Brunswick (2012 AAABA Champions) for the first game and then faced off with the New Orleans Boosters (13-time AAABA Champions). After defeating two past-champions, the Patriots defeated the top two teams from the Johnstown League and Philadelphia (2nd place three times) twice to win the title. Congratulations to the players and coaches of the 2014 Chicago-Metro Des Plaines Patriots for winning the 2014 AAABA World Series!
