Trout Park, home of the Elgin Aces, will host the Metropolitan Collegiate Summer Baseball League of Illinois 2011 All-Star Game on Sunday, July 17th.  The game is scheduled to start at 5:50 pm.  

 

Every team in the Metro League will be represented by two pitchers and three position players in the game.  Players will receive All-Star recognition and scouts will be in attendance. 

 

The White Team will be coached by Jack Walker, manager of the Park Ridge Indians, and will consist of players from the following teams:  Elgin Aces, Chicago Americans, Crystal Lake Cardinals, and the Park Ridge Indians.

 

The Blue Team will be coached by Mike Schultz, manager of the Des Plaines Patriots, and will consist of players from the following teams:  DuPage Training Academy Wildcats, Des Plaines Patriots, Wheaton White Sox, and the Chicago Titans.

 


The game will be nine innings and is scheduled to start at 5:50 pm. 

Players need to arrive at Trout Park by 3:30 pm.

 

Please take note of the following schedule:

 

July 17, 2011

 

3:30 pm   -- player check-in  (picnic area)

4:00 pm  --stretching and warm-up (coin toss for home team)

4:30 pm  --60 yard dash times

4:50 pm  --White:  infield / outfield

5:10 pm   -- Blue: infield/outfield

5:30 pm   -- field preparation

5:45 pm   --umpires meeting

5:50 pm  --game start

 

 

 The following rules and regulations will be in effect:

  •  Pitchers will only throw one (1) inning, but one pitcher from each team will have to throw two (2) innings.
  •  Line-ups will consist of ten (10) players. The designated hitter (DH) and extra hitter (EH) will be used.
  •  Players are only allowed play the field or pitch, not both.
  •  Players must bring their own bats, helmets, and catcher gear.  Equipment will not be supplied All position players must play the field for at least three (3) innings.
  • Players are only allowed to re-enter the game if an injury occurs and there are no substitutes available.
  • One player will be chosen as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and will be awarded at the end of the game.
